My love of anything artistic comes very natural. Many of my family have careers and/or interest in art. I studied art at Anderson College in Indiana in 1980 to 1983. My major was in commercial art but I leaned towards fine arts where I followed in the footsteps of great artists like Charles Shultz, Norman Rockwell and Kristen Tovey. I took photography courses in Junior High School, was the Year Book photographer my senior year of Highschool and then in College I had basic Photography classes (where I discoverd my passion) After college I had to get a job fast so I went to the local mall in Jackson Tennessee. The first place I went to was Sears. They hired me on the spot. The manager there was quiting and so I moved up in a month to manager. I have been a portrait photographer ever since. I worked for Sears for about two years and then began to freelance for various studios in Memphis TN where is was lucky to be an official photographer for the Mid-South fair talent contest. I did that untill 1989 where I went to work for American Studios. I left American Studios after being sent to Holland MI to become the district manager for a year. I tried something different for about two years and then started my own studio in November of 1995 called "The Family Album" I wanted to create a studio with a relaxed inviroment where I could let my artistic side out. I first rented a store building in a strip mall but did not like that so I rented a house on a main road in Jackson. We stayed there for about six years. In May 2003 we found a worn out abandoned house. We took possesion of it in and began restoring it. Our studio is now a beautiful victorian home built in 1891. We have beautiful gardens which include a 7000 gal. koi pond with cascading waterfalls and seasonal flower gardens. We also have a swing modeled after the swing on the Secret Garden which hangs on a huge old oak tree limb. There are many different sets rangeing from a barn set to soon a beautiful four tiered water fountain.
